HIV-1 gp41 (Ectodomain Subtype B)

Recombinant HIV-1 gp41 (Subtype B) is a high-purity envelope glycoprotein widely used in HIV serological diagnostics and research. As the transmembrane component of the HIV envelope complex, gp41 mediates membrane fusion during viral entry and elicits a strong antibody response early in infection, making it an ideal antigen for HIV antibody detection assays. Subtype B has historically served as the reference strain for HIV structural biology and diagnostic assay development, and gp41 remains one of the most extensively validated recombinant antigens incorporated into commercial HIV immunoassays, including ELISA, rapid tests, and Western blot platforms.
