HIV-2 gp36 (Ectodomain)

Recombinant HIV-2 gp36 (Ectodomain) is a high-purity envelope glycoprotein widely used for the specific detection of antibodies against HIV-2 infection. As the functional and structural equivalent of HIV-1 gp41, gp36 mediates membrane fusion during viral entry while containing immunodominant epitopes that enable reliable serological differentiation between HIV-1 and HIV-2 due to their limited cross-reactivity. Recombinant gp36 is an essential antigen for differential HIV immunoassays, confirmatory testing, and multiplex diagnostic platforms, supporting accurate species discrimination and comprehensive HIV diagnostic coverage.
